This page explains what happens to your email address when you sign up for my newsletter on thormartinbaerug.com.
Who is responsible
Thor Martin Bærug, Oslo, Norway (org. no. 827 995 932), is the data controller. You can always write to me at thor@thormartinbaerug.com.
What I store
Your email address, the page you signed up from, the language of the form, when you signed up and confirmed, and the text you agreed to. Your IP address is not saved with your sign-up. To limit misuse of the form, a scrambled version of it is kept for one hour and then deleted. Like all web hosts, one.com keeps ordinary server logs for a short period.
Why
To send you the files you asked for and my newsletter with analysis, blog posts and other pieces on music, rights and data. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box and confirming your subscription in the email you receive. You can withdraw your consent at any time. The short-term use of your IP address against misuse is based on my legitimate interest in keeping the form working.
How long
Until you unsubscribe. A sign-up that is never confirmed is deleted after 30 days.
Who can see it
Only me. The address is stored in my website’s database at the web host one.com, which processes it on my behalf. I do not share or sell it, and I use it only for the files and the newsletter.
Unsubscribing and your rights
Every email contains a link that unsubscribes you and deletes your address at once. You can also write to me to find out what I have stored, or to have it corrected or deleted. If you are not satisfied with how I handle your data, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
